Alkan and Liszt discs. He gave an interpretation of the great Polonaises as metaphors of the Polish diaspora: of exile, sorrow
and despair. The 'Polonaise-Fantaisie', a synthesis of all the others, closes this sumptuous recording, now repackaged as a
Catalogue CD 2017 at mid price.
