1990年羅馬世界盃足球賽冠軍賽前夕，當時樂壇最優秀的三位男高音，卡列拉斯、多明哥、帕華洛帝於羅馬古卡拉卡拉浴場，由祖賓梅塔指揮首度聚集一堂舉辦演唱會，「三大男高音」美譽正式出現。演唱會非常成功，錄製成的唱片更是古典音樂有史以來最暢銷的專輯。接著1994年洛杉磯世界盃、1998年巴黎世界盃，三大男高音也再度攜手開唱，依舊取得極大的成功。
今年為1998巴黎三大男高音演唱會的25週年，當年舞台設在巴黎地標艾菲爾鐵塔之下，搭配特殊的照明及裝飾滿鮮花的舞台搭建，充滿燈光秀的艾菲爾鐵塔背景環繞下，將「光之都」與「花都」巴黎映照出最極致的視覺效果。同時巴黎也是一個公認的「浪漫之都」，更激發出三大男高音選擇了最熱烈的曲目與激情演唱。音樂會現場捕捉了三大男高音最激動人心的演唱，現場觀眾人數是羅馬的100倍，電視觀眾估計超過2億人，被譽為是三場世界盃演唱會中最好的一場。
25週年紀念Decca特地發行CD+DVD限量紀念版本，然舊朋友重溫、新朋友見證這場偉大的盛會。
